These are all we want for Christmas:
A gift guide
This year has been a difficult one to say the least, so why not treat love ones or just treat yourself to the things that have been on that Christmas Wishlist. We all have different personalities and interests, so there is something out there for everyone. So, what’s on your Christmas gift list for this year? Here’s a guide to help and inspire you for what to buy.
The “I’d rather stay home” person
I’m sure most of us have turned into this type of person, if you know someone who you need to gift this Christmas that’s a homebody, think soft loungewear, silk, teddy pyjamas to designer bathrobes and faux fur slippers, there’s something for everyone. For luxury ‘over the top’ pieces, Versace’s bathrobe and silk pyjama trousers are popular must haves or Olivia Von Halle printed silk-satin pyjama sets sold on Net-a-Porter. For medium and affordable pieces, brands like Skims, UGG, The White Company, Boux Avenue and Asos have some great minimalist, sustainable styles.
The “I love a good candle/wax melt” person
Giving candles as a Christmas gift could be pretty boring but if it looks amazing and comes with a stunning scent, how could you be mad? Even Travis Scott and Drake jumped in on the candle making business which sold out immediately after being released. If someone you know is into their designers, Dior, YSL, Tom Ford and Versace have candles that come in pretty/modern candle holders. For the middle range, there are brands like Jo Malone, Diptyque and Acqua Di Parma. There are some for the sustainable lovers too, brands like Neom, CaÏa and Skandinavisk plus more. This year has been a year to be supporting small businesses, websites like Esty and searching on Instagram are great ways of finding small brands like Coco Wax Melts, Melty Moments UK and Lit Wicks London (just to name a few).
For that “Sneaker Head”
Receiving a pair of trainers as a gift for any ‘Sneaker Head’ is a dream and if you’ve been keeping an eye out for the new releases, you’ll have seen what’s new especially with Nike. There have been a few designer collaborations this year (mainly with Nike), now there are many more collabs to be dropped this month. Ambush x Nike collaboration, dropped on the 11th December, they revisited the trainer of the year style of the ‘Nike Dunk’ in a black and white hightop style. Stussy’s newest collab with Nike also dropped on the 11th December, in the style of the Nike Air Force 1 covered with a canvas looking fabric in colours sand and black, stitched Nike tick and a plaque on the back. If you’re looking for something fun, bright and in your face bold, Reggeaton singer J.Balvin revealed his Nike trainer in collaboration with Jordan for the Air Jordan 1 high-tops (released on the 8th December, sold out on the day of release). And finally, a drop back in October from Comme des Garçons x Nike Air Force 1 Mid that was seen in the Paris Fashion Week F/W 20 show. Keep an eye out on Nike’s website (SNKRS section) for the newest and upcoming products.
For the “Dog Lover”
Dog owners love their dogs to the extent that they love dressing them up and treating them to the finest foods, pet accessories and beds. Designers such as Moncler and Prada have released on trend pieces that are functional and fashionable. For high end designer items, websites such as Farfetch.com for clothing and accessories, amara.com, selfriges.com and Harrods.com for accessorise and bedding. For high street brands, websites like H&M, Esty and Cath Kidston have cute and affordable choices. So, whether you need to buy for someone else or yourself, dogs love to feel included at Christmas too.
For the “Technology Freak”
The newest gadgets and technology accessories have had everyone hooked. Seeing gamers crave over the new P5S console, beauty bloggers raving about new hair tools such as the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and Corrale straighteners, music lovers wanting to try out the latest earphones like the Samsung Galaxy Live True Wireless Buds. A collaboration from clothing brand Ambush with Beats by Dre for a special edition of Powerbeats glow in the dark earphones look like the must haves for the year ahead. Apple offered us a range of iPhones to choose from this year with products such as the new iPhone 12, Max Pro, SE, the new iPad Air. Now, new AirPods Max headphones have been released that come in five different colours and are the perfect gift for an Apple lover.
