AME 848 DELIVERED ITS FIRST COLLECTION:
A CONTEMPORARY AND DURABLE GARMENT, DESIGNED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF AN ERA.
The first unique pieces from AME 848 was released on March 24th. This is the latest project of Swiss designer, Alexis Robert-Charrue, also at the head of RX-Care. With his team, he wishes to propose a deeper and more current vision
of the creations that are possible through recycling.
Upcycling, as AME 848 sees it, is not just a trend, neither a movement that will fade away in the next season: it is a new way of looking at clothing. The over-production of new products will unfortunately not stop anytime soon and millions of new pieces will continue to be assembled all over the world. However, there are only a few sewing techniques that theorize the reconstruction of garments from recycled materials. A large portion of the process remains to be developed and the implementation of systems aiming at optimizing the efficiency of these techniques seems to be one of the major challenges of the sector.
For AME 848, these projects are reflected in efficient and transposable hybridization processes that Alexis Robert Charrue has enjoyed experimenting with and developing for several years. His first work in the field of upcycling contained some thirty pieces which were marketed in 2017 in a collaboration with Lowkey Studio in Vevey (CH). Still signed RX3000 at the time, they now take on their full meaning in a structure entirely imagined to allow them to be
The pieces are available in several ranges that are named according to their attributes and construction technique. “Reborn”, for a piece entirely revisited from recycled materials, “Evolved” where some new components are integrated into the piece or “Ultimate”, for models entirely imagined on the basis of specific cuttings. These new techniques allow for the careful gathering of several used garments as well as utilizing new and abandoned raw materials into their designs. The future owners of these original and unique pieces will discover garments and accessories built with sensitivity, in the greatest respect of their own past. Based on the principle that each piece has a soul, the creative interventions are carefully chosen to give them all the energy necessary for a new beginning.
With this first release, AME 848 places itself as an actor aware of the issues and challenges of its time. The brand wishes to offer to a whole community, a material and inspiring solutions to the difficulties of a period that everyone must inevitably go through in their own way. A journey symbolized by the garment, which must take its passengers to a place where a new ideal is allowed to express itself.
The first collection will be available this Wednesday, March 24. The products will be put on sale regularly on the brand’s Instagram page (@ame_848) only, at a rate of 3 units per week. Each piece is unique and made in our studios in Switzerland.
