On Sunday October 2nd, Grounded 1002 hosted its first experience, #rockwithcare – a sound therapy concert.

If you are not familiar with the brand, Grounded 1002 promotes an intuitive lifestyle, they curate experiences, and they have an online store. The mission of the brand is to be a gateway for people being a better version of themselves – whether that is through what they share on social media, through the experiences they create, or through the products they sell.

This show was definitely a gateway to sound therapy presenting four styles of sound were presented by 12 musicians coupled with upscale light and sounds. It was the perfect way for 60 attendees to get out of their comfort zone. Most had no idea what to expect. Klueless Magazine interviewed a few people, you can find some reactions on Instagram and on TikTok.

The concert took place in one of the few remaining medieval churches in East London (it survived WWII, bombs, floods). Almost half the church is the original and the other parts have been redone. It is symbolic of the old and new and we all have to level up. When we do, we keep part of ourselves and blend the new parts of us. The bell tower at the church rings every hour. With doors opening at 6:45 pm for the concert, the audience heard the bells go off at 7 pm, 8 pm, and 9 pm. The post-concert stragglers heard them at 10 pm too. The vibrations of the bells in an old church added some extra healing to the night. That particular Sunday night also marked an important Hindu festivity called Durga Puja. That night is meant to honour the divine feminine powers. The location St. Ethelburga’s had a stain glass of St. Ethelburgas – a powerful woman – there were several attempts to tear her down, but she only got more powerful with time. That’s setting the stage for the first experience by Grounded 1002.

Smells: Grounded 1002’s next product is launching on the November full moon. Called stixandstones, it is a sustainably sourced, high resin Palo Santo. With antimicrobial and aromatherapy properties, these sticks are sourced from Peru and Equador. They smell beautiful and very grounding. Throughout the night, you would get the faint smell of the wood and see some smoke passing by.
What the event was about: This first experience hosted by Grounded 1002 was meant to offer a snippet of how different styles of sound can impact us. The evening included mantra music, hand pan, acoustic sounds, and opera. The goal of the company was that at least one style of sound offered something additive for each person in the room. If so, the choice to explore further is there.

The 4 styles of sound were mantra music to open the chakras, hand pan to reduce anxiety, acoustic conscious music to offer familiar sounds plus to act as affirmations, and opera to see the diverse range of emotions one song could offer. Neeta Sharma, founder of Grounded 1002 (& birthday girl on the day) spoke halfway through the event and she curated the event so there was no talking until the halfway point of the show.

If you’re curious, the brand created a Spotify playlist that mirrors the evening. What’s missing, however, are the vibrations coming from the instruments, vocals, and the crowd. The tagline of Grounded 1002 is to #getcurious. They have some fun experiences planned for 2023 – and, only one of them is a concert. We will keep sharing as we attend.
