South African born star, LJé Palmer shared the video for his latest single, the PRB assisted “Now We Popping”, on Friday 8th of January. The track serves as the first single from LJé’s Melting Colours EP which drops in March this year.
The silky/bouncy track plays out like a beautiful marriage between Hip-Hop and R&B, elevated further by LJé’s introspective lyrics on the hook the second the song drops: “I don’t want it, you’re too deep, baby I won’t stop it; too steep, baby out of pocket”. The song plays out like an ode to someone that LJé cherished and who was there for him way before he was known for who he is today. The Jeremiah and Lyn Destiny directed visuals insert LJé into the vision he wrote himself; namely, a young boy who
was in love with a girl and what he aimed to accomplish, to then accomplishing it and more and losing sight of the one thing in his life that was real and pure.
London-bred, PRB, serves as the devil on LJé’s shoulder and who provides a superb verse that marks LJé’s transition into fame. We also get spoilt by a special freestyle skit from LJé and Dezzy Lava; whom we are also expecting music from this year. Towards the end of the video, we are left with an
ambiguous turn after they are seen arguing so who knows what to expect next from this project or the next visuals but I’m sure it will not be anything short of groundbreaking.
