Fast rising indigenous Nigerian rapper, singer and song writer, Henry Ifeanyi Ezenwata popularly known as MACJREYZ, was born on 9th of February 1997 in Anambra state, Nigeria.
Macjreyz who draws inspiration from the likes of Damian Marley, Drake, Kanye west, Shabba Ranks & Fela, kicked off his music career in 2014 with his first single titled «Road to Success».

He gained recognition after he released his monster hit titled «Olohun» back in 2018 on which he featured Nigerian indigenous Rapper OLADIPS.
Fast forward to this time, the fast rising rapper/singer has remained consistent, maintaining a healthy competiton with no one but himself.
Macjreyz has also been able to carve a niche for himself in the music industry with his unique style of which he blends English, Yoruba, Igbo and also Patois which makes him stand out from the crowd.

After leaving the place flooded with his vibe on his most recent jam – Money Anthem, I’ve had a chat with Macjreyz about his journey so far in the music industry, his new hit song, and how the environment is reacting to his sound. We’ve also talked about what next he has in store for us.
When did you begin your music career and how has the journey been so far ?
Started music back in 2013, it’s been crazy, it’s been tough, it’s been sweet, the journey from my first song – Road to Success in 2014, all the way to my latest song – Money Anthem in 2020, it’s been a lifestyle basically.
How would you describe your style of music?
Sometimes I make music and don’t even know what genre it is. I just make good music. I don’t want to restrict my vibe to one genre, so just good music.

What is the biggest inspiration to your music career ?
Everything around me inspires me and my music. I get creative with the things happening around me. I make music with my current situation, that way my listeners can relate.
How much has the general music industry home and abroad influenced your style of music? You used to be a rapper, but now you sing, is that an industry thing?
Like I said, I make all kinds of music, I’ve seen different artists and the music they make, so I’ve had to make my own path and stand out. I still do rap, I just infuse other things to it. You can still feel the punchlines when I sing, call it rapping melodiously. Lmao.

What inspired your latest hit song – ‘Money Anthem’ ? What was the mind set behind it?
I be street na, lol. My hunger for money, for success, for a better life. Also Lagos – the hustle central in Nigeria, inspired me to make this song. No dulling in Lagos, everybody is about the money here, both the old and young, everybody want to hear and talk of money. All of that inspired money anthem.
How does ‘Money Anthem’ relate to your current environment?
Well, some people have called me up to say I talked about their current state of mind that they sometimes can’t really talk about so that song is like a mouth piece for them because it speaks their mind. Also the love has been massive and organic too so I’d say it was generally accepted by my fans and beyond.

If Macjreyz wasn’t doing music, what would he be doing?
Brooooo lol…I’ve never really thought of that, all I know is I’ve always wanted to be a star but whatever it is that I would’ve done asides music, I just know I would’ve been a star doing it. If it was a doctor, star boy doctor, or star boy lawyer lol…. ok seriously, If I wasn’t doing music, I’d probably be a pilot, that’s one other way I know I can stay high and fly at the same time lol.
The video is out and banging, what next should we expect from you?
Just more good music, for now I can’t say if there’s an ep or an album, but I can guarantee good music. I’m still working, so no announcements for now but watch out for 2021, it’ll be lit lit. I already sampled my major project with Threesome and Crying Freeman, so people should already know what to expect, but I’m still making no announcements lol.
