Mens virtual fashion shows have taken full swing and just to highlight on a few favourites, the latest collections so far have a laid back tailored and cosy approach. Lockdown remains for most of the world and these collections have taken note, giving men inspiration on what they can wear, how to wear it and how remain on trend effortlessly.
Sunday (17th Jan) we saw the latest Prada Mens Fall 2021 show. With Raf Simons continuing as the co-creative director, it had his signature minimalist laidback soft tailoring all over it mixing it up with Prada’s out-there luxe vibe. This collection saw relaxed tailoring mixed with colour block retro, oversized jackets and coats taking notes from the 60s “cool kids” vibe. Mix that with a street style twist, down to the blunt haircut styles and the psychedelic knitwear. With rolled up sleeves to expose bright contrasting patterns to intricate details like the mini zip pouches on the leather gloves and on the arms of the oversized bomber jackets.

Fendi played around with a mixture of structured knitwear and tailored quilting. Playing around with neutrals, bright colours and textures this collection took structuring to a cosy zone with soft looking shearling and pyjama style coats. Elements of fun with colourful embroidery and brightly coloured accessories. Think formalwear for a luxury homebody, stay at home chić for men especially with the full outfit of quilted dressing gown style coats and trousers, cropped sleeveless knitted pullovers to chunky roll necks and button up scarfs with pockets.

Ermenegildo Zenga gave us the ultimate chill vibe collection. Lots of tailored neutrals, oversized/loose fitting outfits that work for any style and motive. With womenswear added into this collection, even their outfits were a nod to the androgynous style with oversized suits, matching co-ords, smart trousers and wrap coats. Each outfit was either styled with the same colour put together or dressed in a tonal way to playing with the layering effect.
