PLM is an afrobeat duo, formed by artists Polansky on the beat and Mad Kid, based in Madrid, Spain and they are part of the new and fresh urban wave. The duo has a clear sound of abrofeats and bashment mix but in Spanish and English, born and raised in Spain by their African parents. Still they are able to maintain their origins very present in every single track they release.
Polansky on the beat is the man behind PLM production. He started producing in 2018, browsing the sounds of the diaspora until it got to the one that most represent his nature and way of thinking, facing the success at an early stage due to his ability to differentiate himself from the rest of producers from his hometown. The numbers and fast grow with PLM are leaving proof of what he is capable of.
Mad Kid is an artist and lyricist, his love for black music made him an student of hip hop culture itself. The way African culture was introduced to him at a very young age by his family members sparked the interest in him to become an artist and someone who can contribute to the culture through entertainment. It was not until Polansky brought to him the idea of conquering Spain urban scene with the afrobeat sound that Mad Kid decides to jump in the music industry.
PLM released its first single in 2020, called «Weh Yuh Man Deh«, a dark and vibrant tune made for the ones that enjoy a good party with good company. After that came the release of a single called «Dime Si Es Pa Mi» an upbeat tune which anyone can dance to but also has an impacting and very pleasing message that goes against the people who judge women by their physical appearance. With this single PLM invite women to be more comfortable and confident with their own natural bodies. And not too much later they released «Foto«, a song most audience loved that opened doors for PLM as it was played in every single club in their hometown and radio stations. The visuals are just an amazing vibe which matches the song itself. A club banger.
The vibes continued when PLM performed its first showcase in Madrid with a sold out night, their fans proved that this great energy duo live are really worth to watch. Then next song was «Suavecito» partnered with Fastah Selectah, spanish producer living in Amsterdam with over 10 years of experience in the music industry, such as festivals and multiple plays in all digital platforms. This duo doesn’t stop as they keep releasing tracks like «Bailarina» produced by 33music in the production and Sachellys, colombian singer, both artists based in London. Until «Cultura» the mixtape arrived, the energetic duo works his way up and from 2020 has not stopped for a minute.
